Dr. Thomas Davison, CFP® is a member of the Academy for Home Equity in Financial Planning. He started his wealth management career in 1998 at Summit Financial Planning, Inc., a large fee-only firm in Columbus, OH. After retiring as a partner in 2012, he continued his financial planning research by delving into applications of reverse mortgage for retirees. Trained as a research scientist, in financial planning, Tom has published, presented, and been a resource in investments, retirement plans, retirement income modeling, elders and estate planning, income tax planning, college planning, and executive compensation (employer stock options, restricted stock, and net unrealized appreciation). Tom has published numerous articles in consumer, professional, and specialty publications. Frequently quoted in the press, his opinions have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and Kiplinger’s Personal Finance.
Tom has been active in the Financial Planning Association, American Association of Individual Investors, and the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA). Tom has served as a judge and reviewer for the Financial Planning Association and the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Certification exam. He is an advisory board member for myStockOptions.com.
In an earlier career at AT&T Bell Laboratories, Tom managed software development teams for large mission-critical telephone network management projects.
